Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin, who was raised in Wellington but was born and raised in Winnipeg began her acting career on screen in The Piano. At age 11, she became one of the youngest Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. Anna Paquin is full Anna Helene Paquin born on the 24th July 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian actor and New Zealander who at the age of a youngster, was awarded an Academy Award in 1993 for the top supporting actress. She moved to New Zealand as a young teenager. In response to an open audition call and was selected for the part, she was cast as Flora McGrath, the daughter of a deaf Scottish pianist who relocates from Scotland to New Zealand in mid-19th-century to get married. She was only nine years old and did not have any prior experience in acting. After moving to New Zealand, in the United States, she became an adult. Paquin was the main character in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and also had a small part as Jane Eyre as only a child. Paquin played Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding as well as a small role as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teenagers as part of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) as well as her Polexia Aphrodisa character in Almost Famous (2000).
